
Bio
Trevor McDonald is a technical associate staff member in the Manufacturing Systems Analytics
(MSA) Group at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He currently supports the MSA Group's research efforts in metal additive in-situ process monitoring. Before working at ORNL, Trevor was a research assistant at the Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics (CAMAL) at North Carolina State University, where he earned a M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. As part of his master's research, he developed backscattered electron emission detectors and imaging scripts for detecting surface defects and contamination in electron beam powder bed fusion systems.
