
Bio
E. Bryn Pitt is a research and development staff member in Manufacturing Robotics and Controls at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He is also a University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute Fellow, working with the Institute’s Advanced Manufacturing for Affordable Building Construction Convergent Research Initiative.
Dr. Pitt specializes in robotics and control systems engineering with applications across a range of advanced manufacturing areas. His current research supports revitalization of domestic manufacturing and supply chain stability by addressing technological and economic challenges of automation in both low-volume and infrastructure-scale manufacturing.
Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Pitt worked in private industry, where he focused on human-robot interaction and fail-safe control system design.
